Launching Amnesty International’s Annual Report Annual Report 2008: State of the World’s Human Rights at Hyderabad Press Club on May 28, Andhra Pradesh State Information Commissioner R Dileep Reddy said that the people world-wide are being denied their basic rights mostly due to indifferent attitude of the governments. The track record of the Countries like USA, China and European Union, which have been talking more about human rights, was poor with regard to honouring human rights, he added.

The report of the Amnesty International report 2008 , in Imphal was released by the Hon’ble Justice W.A Shishak, Chairperson , Manipur Human Rights Commission ( MHRC)

In his speech, Justice Shishak, emphasised on the need of dialogue between various communities and Human rights education, especially the UDHR could be a useful tools to bring about the knowledge and understanding of Human rights. The Government should play the role of delivering basic needs such as healthcare, water and electricity for the people.Young people should be encouraged to work actively and participate in the field of human rights. People must learn to appreciated the opinion of others.
