International Week of Justice Festival
January 13-19, 2008, Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.
Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for the internationally recognized human rights to be respected and protected. It works independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. AI’s vision is for every person to enjoy all human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. AI believes that all Human Rights transcend national boundaries and that the idea of ‘human rights’ is located in the inherent value of every person, irrespective of cultural location.
Amnesty International is organizing a seven-day ‘International Week of Justice Festival’ at Siri Fort Complex, New Delhi, from 13th to 19th January, 2008. The main theme of the Festival ‘Voices of Dignity’, is to herald the arrival of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 2008.
The Festival is intended to attract youth and college students, social activists and other professionals through an exhibition of artistic expressions and performances.
On this occasion, Amnesty International India is inviting artists, performers, film, theatre and music directors and cultural groups from different parts of the country, in order to build commitment for a culture of human rights and non-violence.
